Today Sherwood Dungeon: Version 2.1 has been launched!

Update Notes:
  • Archery is available, You can use bow and arrows to kill monsters. But you can't use it on players.
  • Price of bow and arrows is reduced by 50%
  • You can have 20 arrows each slot
  • Monsters can walk on stones and water now, Except teleport 5
  • Equipment Overview has been updated, Weapons, shields, rings and tally are now in 1 single overview
  • Healing rings are deleted, Everyone will heal for 100%.
  • New HP ring added. Replace for the healing ring.
  • Dungeon and Chest location has been changed.
  • Health Potions has been resetted to 1000. Will be later 10.
  • Monsters are able to shoot arrows aswell.
  • Monsters can become ''angry'' and will come after you if you shoot at them.
  • Monsters will reset their HP, if you walk into the castle or any other building.
  • You can see now in player list which account is a real account or an guest. Guests will be yellow in the player list and accounts will be white.

''I've put up a very early version of an update that includes Bows & Arrows. This is rough around the edges and there is still plenty to do, but it give you a look at work in progress.

Some major things are still to come. Planned major improvements in AI to give MOBs a fighting chance against players are in the works. Also the shot arcs and speed will undergo a major adjustment soon. Right now MOBs doen't really have a fighting chance but later version of the test should make this part more entertaining.This update uses your existing character but does not save your character progress. This avoids possible errors and expliots while the update is in development.

Honestly, I'm not sure what else is going to ultimately be in the update but I think watching player using the Alpha Test will help me work through the problems and bugs.

You need to be XP level 21 at least. The bow will appear in your equipment screen automatically.

''I thought I'd give you a sneak peak at some of the new features and changes I'm working on.

Some stuff that's obvious in the video:

1. Selecting a monster at range by clicking
2. Bows and Arrows
3. New character equipment screen for additional slots
4. MOBs can walk on rocks

Other stuff includes:
5. Healing ring is removed finally. All characters now heal as if they have the 100% healing ring so you're not loosing anything. The ring will be replaced by an extra powerful heath ring (Ring of Unnatural Health)

6. Dungeon layout and chests positions and content are completly different. (Sorry Roadkill, you'll need new maps this time.)

7. Health potions are available from the merchant but no longer available in the dungeon

8. Most monsters will get ranged weapons to fight back with.

9. Major improvements to how smart the monsters are as AI improvements are neccessary for archery. I haven't started on this one yet, but I'm even considering group tactics for monsters.

There's a whole ton left to do and no expected ETA yet, however I thought I'd give you a look at some stuff I'm working on. Just to stop this question before it's asked again, Bows and Arrows will not be used in PVP. This is to stop players from attacking from range when a duel or social coversation is going on.

(Notice also that the sword and shield slot are moved to the equipment screen. They are no longer in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.)

Some of you may want to ask "When will this be ready?". I'm going to ignore these questions and assume that you must be new here. I put up sneak peeks occasionaly just so you know what I'm working on. We don't discuss dates because we don't know when it will be ready. When it's ready, and don't hold your breath, I'll put up an alpha version to test.''

  • Bug causing powermoves to be missed by your avatar in PVP has been fixed
  • Combat with number keys has been improved. Now Power Moves attempted with no energy in the bar will default to standard attack (rather than Neutral)
